Artist, activist and educator, Janice shows the positive using the negative space What was your first exposure to art and when did you know it was what your really loved? My love of art began in elementary school. My mother was my first Art teacher. She taught me to make puppets for the school’s puppet shows, to sew and make doll clothes and patterns from newspapers. My uncle, Robert, taught me how to draw from comic books. When did you first feel recognized for your art?  My elementary school teacher recognized my art talent and ask me to draw and paint a classroom mural.
