For Your Viewing Pleasure
For 15 years now Wichitans have been encouraged to binge on one short week of independent films and shorts. The Tallgrass Film Festival is a movie lovers must do (or see).
TFF describes the event as, “a celebration of movies.” Their team screens more than 2,000 films each year to bring the best to Wichita. These viewings show films that haven’t made it to mainstream and give audiences opportunities to hear directly from writers, directors and actors in quaint settings.
“Tallgrass shows the best new movies first. Whether you love blockbuster movies or thought-provoking art films, see your next favorite movie before it comes to major theatres.” Comedies, dramas, thrillers, documentaries, short films and more are only a part of the lineup.
The five-day festival allows participants to experience Wichita like never before; turning various downtown locations into viewing areas and party settings. Museums, alleys, old bus stations, theatres and more, all are transformed for specific occasions. Named in the “Top 50 film festivals worth the entry fee” by MovieMaker magazine for 3 years running, it’s a nationally-recognized event that happens right here.
