Battling the Winter Blues

Winter can be tough to get through–just ask those guys from Game of Thrones. From the bitterly cold temperatures, the lack of sunshine, and time spent indoors, it’s no wonder so many of us talk about catching a case of the “winter blues.” January often is the lowest month for many of us. In fact, in 2005 scientists declared a new holiday of sorts called Blue Monday, which often falls on the third Monday of the month. Not that it’s anything to be celebrated. Blue Monday is said to be the most depressing day of the year. Scientists based their findings on an equation that consisted of weather conditions, time since the holidays, time since New Year’s (for those failed resolutions), and debt level (from all that holiday shopping).
