When March Madness comes to town the community scores big Wichita sure loves its basketball, and this month, our city will have the chance to show the nation, just how much. Thursday, March 15 through Saturday, March 17 the first and second rounds of the 2018 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament will take place right here in the ICT. Four years ago, seven organizations worked on a bid for the national tournament. Visit Wichita, City of Wichita, Sedgwick County, INTRUST Bank Arena, Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission, Wichita State, and the Missouri Valley Conference teamed up to submit the bid to host the tournaments in 2018, and Wichita won the bid. For those organizing committees, arena staff, and local fans, the first and second rounds of the tournament provide the perfect opportunity to show the NCAA why selecting Wichita was a win.
